The four-seat city vehicle #
L7e-CP is where a four-door, four-seat body becomes commercially interesting: it can hold traffic speed above 45 km/h, it can be driven on a B licence in most member states, and at 15 kW it stays inside the power band that keeps insurance and inspection in the moped-to-light-vehicle bracket rather than the car bracket.
Speed above 45 km/h is the whole point #
A four-door body limited to 45 km/h is an L6e-BP and cannot be registered as L7e-CP. The distinction is not academic: L6e caps power at 6 kW and mass at 425 kg, so a vehicle that is above either limit but limited to 45 km/h falls into a gap with no compliant category. This is the single most common data error we find in supplier sheets.
Before you order #
- Ask for the certificate maximum speed and the category field together — one without the other proves nothing.
- Check whether the rear seats are part of the approved type or a dealer-fitted bench.
- Confirm the mass in running order for the battery chemistry you are ordering.
